After the success of the Oval Dragon and Caballero Dragon graphics in 1980, it was decided to pursue the dragon direction for a company banner. The "Banner Dragon" was illustrated by VCJ in 1981. It was initially produced as a banner for contests. It was the flagship image for Powell-Peralta until 1984 when the "Ripper" banner took it's place at contests. The Banner Dragon continued to stay in the line as stickers and T-shirts throughout the 80's.
